What's Your Proposal? Let Us Know By November 13

Ours will be a key event on the industry community calendar. Make sure you're a part of it!

You probably know by now that NISO Plus 2021 will be a global, virtual-first event. What you may not know is that, unlike the inaugural conference in February 2020, next year will include not just invited speakers but also sessions proposed by our community — which means you!

The form for submission is here. We want to hear your ideas for NISO Plus sessions on topics of interest to information professionals around the world, including (but not limited to):

  • Accessibility,
  • Artificial Intelligence,
  • Data Practices and Policy,
  • DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion),
  • Digital Humanities,
  • Discoverability,
  • Economics of Information,
  • Electronic Resource Management,
  • Learning,
  • Metadata,
  • Open Research Infrastructure,
  • Peer Review,
  • Preprints,
  • Preservation,
  • Privacy,
  • Product Management,
  • Recognition & Assessment,
  • Reproducibility, and
  • Resilience.

In the spirit of NISO Plus, and to take full advantage of it being a fully global, fully online event, we are especially interested in sessions that address the key issues facing our community of librarians, publishers, researchers, and more — today and tomorrow — in concrete terms. Each 30-minute session will be pre-recorded in January and then live-screened during the conference, with simultaneous Q&A. They will be followed by small- and large-group discussions including the speakers/experts and audience, where participants will help us identify and prioritize next steps for each topic, whether for NISO or other organizations.

Don’t be discouraged by geographical distances or language barriers, we are excited and eager to include global perspectives and will work with you to bring your session to life if it makes the cut!

So, get your thinking caps on and share your ideas with us using this Google form (or contact us directly if you’re unable to access Google). The call for proposals is open through November 13 and all submissions will then be reviewed by our fabulous global planning committee. We aim to inform everyone of our decision during the week of November 30.

We look forward to hearing your proposals!
