Wayne Strickland

Acting Associate Director for the Office of Program Management

Wayne Strickland is the Acting Associate Director for the Office of Program Management at the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) in Alexandria, Virginia.  This division safeguards continuous collection development and public access for the Congressionally mandated clearinghouse of U.S. government-sponsored scientific, technical, engineering information, the National Technical Reports Library (NTRL).  The primary objective for the Office of Program Management is to build and manage projects with Commerce bureaus and other Federal agencies to promote the 21st century NTIS Data Strategic mission.  Wayne manages a staff that focuses on subscription management, project lifecycle, and federal data accessibility.  These activities are coordinated to ensure compliance with Commerce Department policies for Risk Management, Records Management and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

 Wayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the NISO/NFAIS.  Prior to his twenty years career with NTIS, Wayne was a product manager in the college textbook industry and an entrepreneur that owned a retail operation for marketing educational supplies to schools, libraries, daycares and recreational programs in the Washington metropolitan area.
