NISO Training Series

Research Methods and Tools: A 2022 Assessment Training Series
Tuesday, October 11, 2022 - Tuesday, December 13, 2022, 11:30am - 1:00pm (Eastern Standard Time, US & Canada)

Beginning in October of 2022, this training series will provide an interactive and hands-on introduction to research methods and tools in a participatory cohort-based experience focused on improving assessment practices, projects, and tools in your own setting. Through this venue, we want to create a community of learning, with meaningful professional experiences and mentorships, sharing experiences, and getting to know each other better while supporting each other through this process.

Our goal is to introduce participants to research methods and tools so they can fully appreciate what they can do and offer locally at their own institutions.

A leader in the field of assessment, Martha Kyrillidou consults in management, evaluation, assessment and R&D activities. She helps libraries respond to customer needs through the development of user-focused services and culture that enhance the user-experience

NISO Virtual Conference

Building an Equitable, Global Research Community
Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 12:00pm – 4:00pm (Eastern Standard Time, US & Canada)

In the wake of a global pandemic, it becomes increasingly obvious that solutions to the complex problems facing us require a fully integrated and collaborative approach. Irrespective of discipline, it’s essential that the high-quality research being undertaken everywhere is brought to the fore. How can we better ensure that the important work being done in less visible locations or facilities is more discoverable and properly recognized? How can we best leverage the value of preprint services? What networks or platforms are needed? The speakers in this virtual conference will offer plenty of food for creative thought in terms of innovation — though they may have more questions than answers!

NISO Roundtable Webinar

The Power of Consortia
Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 11:00am - 12:30pm (Eastern Standard Time, US & Canada)

Libraries around the world, of all shapes and sizes, have successfully used consortia to maximize the reach of their resources and their spending budgets. Communal efforts, such as the newly-established DPLA/LYRASIS Palace Project, leverage libraries’ buying power and influence to ensure that they and their services continue as a social good, as we move towards a post-pandemic future. This roundtable will bring together leaders of several consortia to talk about their work and their efforts to ensure the broadest possible access to all forms of information in the 21st century.

Confirmed speakers (among others) include Lucy Harrison, Executive Director, GALILEO; Jill Morris, Executive Director, PALCI; and Andrew Pace, Executive Director, USMAI.
