Shared Resources:

United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Sustainable Development: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

SDG Publishers Compact: This Compact is designed to inspire action among publishers. Launched in collaboration with the International Publishers Association, the Compact aims to accelerate progress to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

Signatories aspire to develop sustainable practices and act as champions of the SDGs during the Decade of Action (2020-2030), publishing books and journals that will help inform, develop, and inspire action in that direction.

SDG Publishers Compact Fellows, Top Action Tips: Research and education are at the core of all progress. It must now be aimed at achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the 2030 deadline. The signatories of the SDG Publishers Compact must work to align the entire research and education community’s daily practices, content and measures of success to the SDGs. To this effect, the SDG Publishers Compact Fellows has identified key practical actions that different groups within the scholarly community can take to embed SDGs into practice.
