Leo S. Lo is the University Librarian and Dean of Libraries at the University of Virginia, where he leads the Shannon Library and UVA’s network of branch libraries. He also serves as an AI adviser to the provost and holds a faculty appointment in the School of Education and Human Development. A research library leader for more than 15 years, Lo previously served as dean of the College of University Libraries at the University of New Mexico, associate dean at Penn State University Libraries, associate university librarian at Old Dominion University, department head at the University of Alabama, and faculty librarian at Kansas State University. Active in ARL and ACRL, he has contributed to ARL committees and the ARL/CNI Task Force on AI & ML Futures. He holds a doctorate in higher education management (University of Pennsylvania) and a postgraduate diploma in AI (University of Oxford), with additional graduate degrees from UConn, Florida State, and Hollins.
