The 2026 NISO Plus Conference in Baltimore Is Happening Soon!
The 2026 NISO Plus conference in Baltimore is swiftly approaching! Don’t miss this unique opportunity to join the conversations that lead to new information standards initiatives and projects. Thanks to our generous sponsors, discounts on registration for the main conference are available for NISO members, groups, students, and retirees, and pre-conference registration is very affordable, at $99 for half-day sessions and $159 for JATS-Con.
Our planning committee has delivered an interactive program program covering the hottest topics of interest to the information community today:
Artificial Intelligence
This year we’re hosting two workshop-style pre-conferences focusing on AI in scholarly publishing. The first will cover managing AI access to content; the second addresses AI usage tracking. During the main conference, parallel sessions will cover topics like the evolving landscape of AI governance, how AI is transforming content delivery, and sustainable approaches to AI development, to name just a few. This is a great opportunity to shape the community conversation exploring best practices in these critical areas!
Metadata
As always, metadata is an important area of discussion at the 2026 NISO Plus conference! The program features sessions on managing increasingly complex metadata workflows, addressing metadata fragmentation, metadata creation and enhancement using generative AI, and more.
Open Research and Research Integrity
The NISO Plus program includes sessions on open data, trust markers for published research, and innovations in peer review that support research integrity.
And that’s not all—the program also features an opening keynote address from Brandie Nonnecke, the Miles Conrad Award and Lecture (to be delivered by 2026 awardee Alondra P. Nelson of the Institute for Advanced Study), and three working group updates sharing the latest on NISO standards projects.
In short, there’s something for everyone in the information community at NISO Plus! See our conference site for the full program, and register soon. We look forward to seeing you next month!
