NISO Joins 2026 Library Insights Summit Partnership
March 2026
NISO has joined a partnership to develop programming for the 2026 Library Insights Summit (LIS), to be hosted at McCormick Place in Chicago on June 26, just one day prior to the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference. Produced by Foreword Reviews, the meeting is the only conference designed to bring established publishers, author-publishers, and librarians together for a full day of smart, actionable, and future-focused programming.
Also joining the partnership is the Book Industry Study Group (BISG). For 18 consecutive years, NISO and BISG co-produced "The Changing Standards Landscape," a session hosted at the ALA Annual Conference. Joining Foreword for the Library Insights Summit will bring NISO-BISG standards programming to a wider audience while also expanding LIS programming.
The LIS will feature morning breakout sessions for three communities: established trade publishers, author-publishers, and librarians. It will then bring everyone together in the afternoon for programming relevant to all sectors. Sessions include a librarian-focused breakout discussion, "Misinformation, Metrics, and Meaning: Measuring Trust in the System," led by NISO Executive Director Todd Carpenter.
The 2026 Library Insights Summit has something for everyone working along the path from book creation to reader access. See the event website for the full schedule and speaker roster and to register.
