Diana Brooking has been a librarian at the University of Washington for 20 years. She is the Slavic and Scandinavian cataloger and the bibliographer for Germanics. Her involvement with ebooks began innocently enough. She began by filling in for someone who had been loading record sets for microform collections. Later the UW Libraries started to buy ebook packages. At first this didn't seem all that different. But like a science fiction movie monster, the task kept growing in size and complexity, slowly taking over Diana's working life... Today she will be presenting a practioner's view from the ground level.
