NISO Webinars — A Benefit for ALL Members!
Helping people gain a greater understanding of the information community — our issues and concerns, challenges and opportunities — is core to NISO's mission. Our events are a key element of this, with our popular webinar program at their heart. And, following the NISO/NFAIS merger earlier this year, all NISO members can now attend all 14 webinars in 2020 completely free of charge! This includes an unlimited number of places and full access to a recording of each webinar for anyone who is unable to attend the event itself. Non-members are also welcome to join, of course. Information about fees and registration is available for each event — please see below or visit our events page.
We recommend that, where possible, you join our webinars as a group (or groups) rather than individually. This provides more opportunity for you and your colleagues to discuss the content, and also allows more people to join the webinars without exceeding our overall limit of 500 participants.
Our 2020 webinar program begins with a look at the important topic of identity management, in a two-part, round-table format webinar featuring experts including Mark Bilby (Scholarly Communications Librarian at California State University at Fullerton, Tim Lloyd (CEO of LibLynx), and Laura Paglione (Consultant at Spherical Cow and specialist on digital identity issues). Part 1 of the webinar, at 1.00pm ET on January 15, will focus on Identity Management and Authentication Strategies. Part 2 will take place a week later, at 1.00pm ET on January 22. This time, the focus will be on Talking to Your Organization’s IT Group When You’re Not an IT Person.
To receive the sign-on credentials necessary to access the January two-part webinars, Voting Member organizations of NISO are asked to RSVP through this form. Designated webinar contacts for LSA members will continue to receive those sign-on credentials as before.
