Free Informational Event: Your Role in the NISO Open Discovery Initiative

Mark Your Calendars!

Please join us and other members of the information community for this free NISO webinar at 11:00am on Monday, November 16.

NISO recently updated the Open Discovery Initiative Recommended Practice, which outlines data exchange including data formats, method of delivery, usage reporting, frequency of updates and rights of use between discovery service providers, content providers and libraries.  The recommendations in this document, created by members of the Open Discovery Initiative Standing Committee, enable libraries, discovery service providers, and content providers to work together to the full extent of their abilities -- providing the most effective and rich experience to end users.

Join ODI Standing Committee members Ken Varnum of the University of Michigan and Geoffrey Morse of Northwestern University at 11 am (Eastern Standard, US & Canada) for an hour long discussion highlighting the recommended practice and the benefits to all parties who participate.

This event is being provided as a public service at no cost to the broader information community. There is no cost to attend. However, for technical reasons, we will have to cap attendance for the live broadcast at 500 sign-ups.

To allow us to estimate attendance and to ensure that you can receive the sign-on credentials directly via your professional email address, we ask those interested in attending to complete this RSVP form. Webinar attendance on the Zoom platform does require sign-on with an email address.
