Register by August 9 for NISO 2024 Plus Global/Online Early Bird Rates

August 2024

The early bird registration deadline for our 2024 NISO Plus Global/Online conference (September 17–18) is almost here! Sign up by Friday, August 9, for the best rates to this interactive virtual meeting focused on bringing people together and inspiring collaboration in the information community.

Here are just a few reasons to attend NISO Plus Global/Online:

  • Our program tackles the “big issues” and challenges in scholarly communications: Topics we’ll address include AI and emerging technologies, open research (including open access and open data), PIDs and metadata, research integrity, and accessibility. As always, we’ve also reserved time for updates on NISO standards projects as well as an introduction to the standards process (new for 2024!).
  • You’ll hear from a wide range of voices and perspectives: Participants who attended our last NISO Plus virtual event praised the meeting for the “variety of people attending” and “the breadth of topics and global perspectives.” Speakers at NISO Plus Global/Online represent libraries, publishers, service and scholarly infrastructure providers, government agencies, and more. The virtual format also allows for greater participation from countries outside North America, including The Netherlands, Brazil, Australia, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates, to name just a few.
  • You’ll brainstorm community-driven solutions with colleagues from across the information community: Standards start with conversations, including those we host at NISO Plus events! (In fact, our recently published CREC Recommended Practice emerged from a conversation that took place at NISO Plus 2021.) Each interactive session includes a presentation followed by a group discussion focused on identifying potential solutions to the challenges and issues introduced by the speakers.

Thanks to our generous sponsorsCadmore MediafigshareBowkerEBSCOSilverchairAccess InnovationsCHORUS, and the Modern Language Association—registration rates for the conference are affordable for all in the community. Tickets start at just $49 for students, attendees who are unemployed, retirees, and those residing in low- and middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank). There are also discounts for groups of five or more.

We hope you’ll take part in the conversation and join us in September for this special event. Check our program for the latest on sessions and speakers, and remember, register by August 9 to take advantage of early bird rates!
