“This document provides requirements and recommendations for developing education and training systems using virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR) technology. It specifies how to organize the information and data necessary for the development of VR/AR/MR integrated systems for education and training. It includes procedures for the development of VR/AR/MR integrated systems. This document includes several topics for consideration when developing VR/AR/MR based education and training systems, as follows. First, it defines concepts of VR/AR/MR based education and training. Second, it defines an information modelling architecture for the systems. Third, standards based functional components for the systems are specified. Fourth, framework components for implementing the systems are specified. And, finally, use cases for the systems based on the information modelling architecture are included. Device hardware technology for education and training systems is excluded from this document.”

Introducing the Unicode Inflection Library Technical Preview Release [Unicode]
“The problem of linguistic inflection has long been a barrier to effective software internationalization. The problem is even more visible today with multimodal UIs. In many languages, word forms change (inflect) based on grammatical context, creating a significant challenge for developers aiming to build truly global applications. Getting the wrong word inflection can be as bad as using the wrong preposition in English. Today, the Unicode Consortium is announcing a major step forward with the Technical Preview Release of the Unicode Inflection Library. It provides direct access through C and C++ APIs, or can be used in conjunction with Message Format 2.0 functionality.”
Call for Volunteers to Translate the IFLA/UNESCO Multicultural Library Manifesto Toolkit [ifla-l Digest]
"The Library Services to Multicultural Populations Section is seeking volunteers to help translate the IFLA/UNESCO Multicultural Library Manifesto Toolkit into additional languages for publication in the IFLA repository. The Toolkit has already been translated into Chinese, Persian, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. To further support global access, we invite colleagues who are able to translate the Toolkit into other languages to express their interest. Volunteers will receive the official English version and simple formatting guidelines, and all completed translations will be acknowledged and made publicly available through the IFLA repository.
