The tenth report of the State of Open Data, a result of a collaboration between Digital Science, Figshare, and Springer Nature, is now available. Based on a survey of roughly 4,700 researchers, librarians, and policy experts from 151 countries, the report shares insights on evolving attitudes and practices around open research. Key findings for 2025 include that the vast majority of researchers support open research practices, that AI is being used increasingly for data processing and metadata creation, and that support for national mandates varies widely across countries and disciplines. Read the Springer Nature press release or download the full report, which offers recommendations informed by the survey findings for funders, academic institutions, and others supporting researchers.
