PIDfest, the International Conference on Persistent Identifiers, Returns in 2026
February 2026
Save the date! The next PIDfest is scheduled to take place in Leiden from October 27–29, 2026. Hosted by SURF, the cooperative of Dutch research and educational institutions, the conference will bring together the global community of researchers, infrastructure providers, funders, publishers, and policymakers to accelerate adoption and innovation in persistent identifiers (PIDs). As in the past, the program will feature keynotes, presentations, unconferences, and more, and if you've never attended, you can read our recap of the 2024 PIDfest in Prague to get a sense of what the meeting is all about.
The theme of this year's PIDfest is "Keeping Knowledge Connected," and the call for proposals will open soon. The conference organizers welcome ideas from a broad range of perspectives, so if you're passionate about PIDs and open research, get ready to share your ideas! In the meantime, check the PIDfest website for the latest announcements and updates.
