Christian Isbister is a Métis librarian originally from Red Deer Alberta, which sits on the border of Treaties 6 and 7. His father's family primarily comes from Northern Saskatchewan, around Saskatoon and Prince Albert, while his mother's side comes from Southern Saskatchewan around Moose Jaw and Regina. He completed his MLIS at the University of Alberta in 2020 and has worked a number of jobs, including as a Metadata Consultant for the Book Publishers Association of Alberta. Christian currently works as the Indigenous Initiatives Librarian at UBC Okanagan Library, living as an uninvited guest on the unceeded and ancestral territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation.
