Hathy Simpson

E. Hatheway (Hathy) Simpson, MPH, is the Public Health Information Specialist and Project Coordinator of the Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce Website (http://PHPartners.org) Project under contract with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She develops, manages, and organizes content for the web portal to enable the effective use of information for public health practice. She developed a portal of evidence-based public health resources, http://library.umassmed.edu/ebpph, at the Lamar Soutter Library, UMass Medical School, and coordinated a program to provide public health professionals with access to full-text journal articles. Her work focuses on improving awareness of and access to information resources for public health practice. Hathy has developed and conducted training programs and continuing education classes for public health professionals, students, and health information specialists on evidence-based information resources. Her previous experience includes managing a research study that assessed the information needs of public health professionals and providing reference services at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Library. She has a Masters of Public Health from the University of Connecticut Health Center and a B.A. in Biology from Colby College.
