Kari Weaver

Kari D. Weaver is a learning, teaching, and instructional design librarian at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, where she provides leadership for the library’s educational initiatives across learning modalities. Her work spans instructional design, online learning, assessment, librarian mentoring, and campus-wide strategic initiatives related to digital learning and information literacy. An active member of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) for more than sixteen years, Weaver has contributed extensively through leadership, scholarship, mentorship, and service, particularly within the Women and Gender Studies Section (WGSS).

Known for her thoughtful and engaging approach to librarianship, Weaver is especially interested in the role of libraries as centers of expertise, teaching, and human connection. She is a strong advocate for inclusive pedagogy, professional growth, and the importance of librarians in helping communities navigate an increasingly information-driven world.
