Katherine Witzig (she/they), a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ and disability communities, graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma (BA English, 2015) and Oklahoma City University (BA Spanish, 2022) and is in their final semester of the MLIS program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. They were awarded the 2023-2024 Native Forward Graduate Program Scholar distinction from the Native Forward Scholars Fund and a 2024 NISO+ Scholarship from the National Information Standards Organization. They currently serve locally as the Oklahoma Library Association’s Chair for the Committee of Tribal Libraries, Archives, and Museums and nationally as the co-chair of the PCC Task Group for Metadata Related to Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.
