Rina Elster Pantalony is a copyright lawyer with more than 25 years experience
working with cultural heritage institutions in Canada and the US on matters
concerning the digital reproduction and distribution of collections and related
materials. For over ten years, she was faculty in the Moving Image Archive
Preservation Program in the Department of Cinema Studies, Tisch School of the Arts,
New York University, where she taught graduate courses in copyright law and
policy. She is the former Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee of the International
Council of Museums and serves on the Rights Committee of the Book Industry Study
Group. She is published widely as an expert on intellectual property management
practices and was appointed Director, Copyright Advisory Services, Columbia
University Libraries in 2014.
